MSI Red Planet Blue Planet Exhibit
As architect of record, Nurture led an award-winning collaboration alongside the Hettema Group and Gallagher & Associates to design a major new exhibit utilizing all levels of the East Pavilion of the Museum of Science and Industry. The joint creative concept emerged victorious in a NASA sponsored design competition which included participation of 50+ major international exhibit design firms.
Spanning 18,000 square feet, the project focused on the exploration of Mars and other thrilling frontiers on Earth, showcasing highly immersive presentations aimed at delivering an unparalleled museum experience. The exhibit design leveraged optimum use of the three-story high volume of the central rotunda space.
Nurture was responsible for generating accurate background drawings of the entire building to be used by the exhibit designers and mechanical consultants in generating their work. Our team oversaw the architectural and structural adjustments required to accommodate the exhibit features as well as life safety designs, ensuring smooth integration within intricate exhibit elements.
